Fred Keating has been working with speech and communication students for over 30 years in both university and business environments.
Fred has coached executives, employees, and subject experts in live public speaking and on-camera presentation skills within corporate structures such as TELUS, the University of Alberta, the Alberta Research Council, Capital Health and various provincial and federal government departments.
In the arena of performing arts education Fred offers workshops to students at senior high school and university levels in subjects such as Stagefighting, Audition Techniques, and Building a Career in the Performing Arts. Fred has led workshops in most college and university fine arts departments in Western Canada.
His own on-camera experience is extensive. For years he could be seen each week on the Discovery Channels in both Canada and the United States hosting the wilderness show Wildlife International and the series In Wildness. He also narrated the award-winning History Channel series Canadians in Afghanistan.
Keating is also a familiar face on training videos for internal use in both private and public sectors. As host of nationwide programs Movieweek and Mailbag, Fred introduced Canadian audiences to the advantages of Pay TV.
Fred has served on the MacEwan College Advisory Board for Audio-visual Communications, and is a voting member of the Union of BC Performers, the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, the Writers Guild of Canada, and the Association of Canadian Cinema Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA).
Coaching sessions can be done on an individual or small group basis.
